Professor Layton and the Curious Village[]

After the village's drawbridge was lifted and the crank stolen, effectively sealing the village from the inside, Professor Layton and Luke decided that it would be best if they checked in at the local inn. They spoke to Beatrice, who explained that unfortunately the guest rooms were being remodelled so Layton and Luke would have to stay in the attic, although she promised to take care of them during their stay regardless. The situation with their accommodation results in the Inn minigame in order to furnish the rooms they'd been given.

That evening, Beatrice discovered Gerard's watch near the park and decided to hold onto it until the morning. Layton and Luke asked for it in order to return the item to Gerald, to which Beatrice obliged. Layton warned her that they could be out for a while, but she happily agreed to keep her doors open until they returned, noting that another new guest had just checked in and she was in the process of preparing his room too.

Once Layton and Luke had woken up and made their way downstairs the next morning, she informed them that Inspector Chelmey had phoned, requesting their presence at Reinhold Manor.

Later, Beatrice asked that Layton and Luke help her by finding the man who didn't pay his bill for his stay at the inn, visibly distressed that someone had performed a doze-and-dash routine on her. It wasn't until they were in the process of climbing the village's tower that Layton and Luke realized the man was actually Don Paolo.

Before approaching the tower, while Layton searched for the identity of the man who had been actively trying to take them out, he asked Beatrice for any recent newspapers, which she is unable to locate.
