Pre-Game[]

Akbadain was built millennia before the events of Miracle Mask by the Azrans, an ancient and powerful civilization. Though they themselves died, the Azrans left behind three legacies: the Healing Garden, the City of Harmony, and the the Nautilus Chamber of Akbadain. At the Akbadain ruins, they left a massive amount of treasure, guarded by a menagerie of traps. Directions to the ruins were written in cipher on the wall of Norwell.

18 years prior to Miracle Mask, because of the search for Randall Ascot lead by Henry Ledore, Monte d'Or was founded very close to Akbadain, and the city was built directly above the ruins.

Chapter 6: The Ghosts of Akbadain[]

Guided by the inscriptions of the Wall of Norwell, Randall and Hershel travel through the desert on a carriahe and find the ruins of Akbadain at the bottom of a canyon. They make their way through several underground floors and encounter many traps involving mechanical mummies and rocks. One in particular had both fight a horde of mummies which Hershel defeated by leading them into a pit. Later on, a rock falls between Hershel and Randal, forcing them to take separate paths but eventually manage to reunite. On the final room before the treasure, a trap is activated and causes the floor to collapse. Hershel manages to get on a stable ground, but Randall doesn't and grabs his friend's hand. Hershel begs Randall to give him the other hand to save him, but he doesn't want to, as he is holding the Miracle Mask. Hershel eventually gets exhausted from holding Randall's hand and releases him, falling into a seemingly bottomless pit. Now alone, Hershel solves the final puzzle of the ruins and opens the door to the chamber containing the treasure of Aukbadain, but leaves it behind as Randall is not with him to see it.

Chapter 8: The Final Miracle[]

18 years later, Randall, or The Masked Gentleman, unleashes the final "miracle" of Monte d'Or and the entire city starts to get covered in sand. Hershel, Luke, Emmy, Henry, Angela, Mordy and Dalston discover a strange-looking manhole behind the monument and open it. It leads to some underground ruins of Aukbadain, where Hershel and Angela solve the last puzzle and cause an ancient mechanism to activate, making the entire layout of Monde d'Or to change into the original markings in the map of Aukbadain, leaving huge cracks on the ground.

Epilogue: The City of Miracles[]

Randall accidentally falls into one of the cracks caused by the ancient mechanism, but Hershel grabs his hand just like 18 years ago. Randall tells him to let him go as he has betrayed a lot of people, just as Henry walks in and grabs him too. After having a childhood flashback, Randall decides to get back up with the help of his friends. Later, he reveals that, after falling into the abyss a long time ago, a river took him into a nearby village and suffered amnesia upon waking up. One day, a mysterious figure sent Randall a letter telling lies about how his friends betrayed him and that he would have to become the Masked Gentleman to take his revenge.
