Labrelum Inc. is the company that created Labyrinthia as a private research facility. In order to keep the city hidden from the rest of the world, the project was co-funded by the British government. The city was built on a region with contaminated ground water. Everyone drinking this water would fall unconscious if they hear the sound of pure silver being struck.
The company later found out that the same water causes the plants to produce a special poison. This poison allows for the alteration of people's minds. The Storyteller used this ink on the stories he distributed so that the people would automatically believe them. The ink used in the Historia Labyrinthia was made of this poison as well.

- Labrelum is an anagram of Umbrella, a shady pharmaceutical company in Capcom's Biohazard/Resident Evil series. It also might be a play 'Cerebrum' the Latin word for brain.
