Professor Layton Wiki

Labyrinthia is the main location in Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. It supposedly lies in an alternate reality than the worlds from the Professor Layton and Ace Attorney series.

The city is ruled by a man named the Storyteller, who has the unique power to turn everything he writes into reality. The city is being plagued by continuous attacks by witches, as it appears that magic actually exists.

Labyrinthia was originally constructed by Labrelum Inc. for Project Labyrinthia. The city was constructed somewhere on an uncharted island and funded by the British government. One by one, people from outside who wished to start a new life signed contracts which meant they would suppress memories of their previous lives, would become 'residents' of Labyrinthia, and believe they had lived there for their entire lives. Using the mysterious chemical found on the island, it was possible to manipulate the minds of the residents. By telling the 'residents' when they first arrived at Labyrinthia that everything 'pure black' was invisible, a cloaking effect was created, allowing for the city to be filled with invisible machines. These machines would be essential to create the effect of magic.

At the end, Professor Layton, Luke Triton, Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey are brought back to London by Zacharias Barnham on a boat.

Trivia[]

  • In one of the concept arts, the group can be seen looking at the city from a distance. In the final version, they are brought directly to the town and are told that nothing exists outside of the city.
  • It is similar to the city of Lincoln in Lincolnshire, England, with many well-preserved medieval buildings and the Great Archive resembling the Lincoln Cathedral.
