Professor Layton Wiki:General Manual of Style
Talk0this wiki
This is the general manual of style that counts for all pages on the wiki except templates and puzzles.

General notes
Edit
- Names of games (including short versions) should be italic. eg:
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future Diabolical Box
- If you can add a link to another page, do so only the first time. (eg: if on the Dropstone page the word Folsense appears multiple times, make the first one a link to the Folsense page with and leave the other ones alone.)
Page contents
Edit
Following things should be put on the page in order (not everything has to be added, but if you add it do it in this order).
Infobox
Edit
The very first thing to be added to a page is always the infobox:
(replace with whatever infobox is applicable)
All parameters should be added to the box, but if they are unknown, they can be left blank.
If no infobox is suited for the page, use a thumbnail image instead:

The thumbnail has to placed on the right (=default), and should not have a width specified.
Introduction text
Edit
Write a short introduction text about the subject of the page. The introduction has to be very general, without any spoilers.
The first mention of the page title should be made bold. For example, if the page is called Folsense, you would start the introduction with:
Folsense is a town ....
Specific sections
Edit
After the introduction, the other sections should follow. These sections are different for each type of page, so check the other Manual of Style pages for more information.
Images
Edit
Relevant images should be placed in the images section, which is placed below the specific sections. They have to be placed in a gallery:
<gallery> image1.png|optional text image2.jpg ... </gallery>
Note that you are also free to place thumbnail images (left or right) in other sections to make the page look a little better.
If there are too many images, and they clog up the page, move the entire gallery to the associated Media page and put a link on the page itself.
Trivia
Edit
The trivia section comes after the images section. In this section, you list all other stuff about the subject that are not very important to the storyline (like name derivations, cameos, ...). This section should be as short as possible. Any facts that can be placed elsewhere on the page must be placed there.
External links
Edit
Here you can add link to sites with information related to the subject.
Edit
Relevant Navigation boxes, like Characters1 etc, have to be placed here.
Categories
Edit
Categories can be placed under the Trivia section. This only applies if the Wikia Category selector isn't available.
Language Links
Edit
Language links are the very last thing to appear on the page. Please place them in alphabetical order.
