004 - A-Maze-Balls

A-Maze-Balls is a puzzle in the Mobile version of Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy. For the puzzle in the Deluxe version of the game, go here.

Puzzle

Try your hand at this clock and ball puzzle. The objective is to move all of the balls into the corresponding area of the clock. The balls can be moved vertically or horizontally, but the lines in the numbers on the clock act as barriers and they cannot be crossed. You also cannot jump over other balls or place one ball on top of another. Slide the balls to move them, and touch the arrows to change the time on the clock.

This is a clock, so the numbers that can be displayed vary depending on their position. To move the balls, you need to change the numbers so that the part that is creating a barrier is removed.

Figure out which numbers need to be displayed in order to move the balls horizontally. For example, '2' and '5' have sections on their sides with no barrier, so lining them up next to each other will enable you to move balls across.

The tens place on the minutes side can only go up to five. When you move balls across from the hours side to the minutes side, you need to line up numbers that both have sections with no barriers.

There are only three numbers that can be displayed in the left-hand position: '0', '1' and '2'. To move balls from this are to the right, the only way to do it is to move them from the bottom by setting the time to twenty-something.
