Bomb Squad is a puzzle in Professor Layton and the Last Specter.

Puzzle

A large bomb has been discovered in this room!

US Version

The room needs to be evacuated, but too many containers are blocking the way out. However, it might just be possible to move the bomb out of range if you get it through the trapdoor in the ceiling.

Can you move the bomb out through the trapdoor? The cream L-shaped block cannot be moved.

UK Version

The room needs to be evacuated, but there are too many containers blocking the way out. However, it might just be possible to move the bomb out of range if you can get it out through the opening pictured at the top of the view below.

Can you move the bomb out through the opening? The cream L-shaped block cannot be moved.

Hints

Click a Tab to reveal the Hint.

US Version

Start by moving the green L-shaped block near the top. Slot it into the gap in the top left of the immovable block.

After that, gradually fill up the right half of the room, starting from the top. Don't leave too many gaps.

If you do this correctly, you will begin to create space underneath the immovable block.

UK Version

Start by moving the green L-shaped block near the top. Slot it into the gap on top of the immovable block.

After that, gradually fill up the right half of the room, starting from the top. Don't leave too many gaps.

If you do this correctly, you will begin to create space underneath the immovable block.

US Version

Next, completely fill the bottom two rows with L-shaped blocks. Then move the leftover orange L-shaped block over to the right so that you can move the bomb under the immovable block. After that, move the topmost green block left one and down one. Then put the topmost blue block over it. Move the yellow "T" and the orange block below it upward. Then maneuver all the orange and pink blocks into the leftmost and bottom rows.

UK Version

Next, completely fill the bottom two rows with L-shaped blocks. You should have one orange L-shaped block left. Shift it to the right so you can move the bomb under the immovable block. After that, move the topmost green block left one and down one. Then, put the topmost blue block over it. Move the yellow T and the orange block below it upwards. Then, manoeuvre all the orange and pink blocks into the leftmost and bottom rows.

If you followed the previous hint correctly, the bomb should be back under the immovable block, with a bit of space to the right of it.

US Version

There's still more to go--you can't move the bomb out until the two T-shaped blocks are up against the right wall. Once you manage that, you should be able to move the bomb directly to the right of the immovable block.

UK Version

There's still a bit to go - you can't move the bomb out until the two T-shaped blocks are up against the right wall. Once you manage that, you should be able to move the bomb directly to the right of the immovable block.

After moving the bomb to the right of the immovable block, the way out will still be blocked by a blue L-shaped block.

US Version

See if you can move the L-shaped blocks on the left downward to fill the space that's now available below the immovable block. If you can manage that, you should be able to get rid of the bomb.

UK Version

See if you can move the L-shaped blocks on the left downwards to fill the space that's now available below the immovable block. If you can manage that, you should be able to get rid of the bomb.

Solution

Correct

Heroic!

Well done! The bomb should be out of range now. Still, it might be a good idea to clear the containers and move outside, just in case.

Incidentally, the minimum number of moves required is 46.
