If you open valve 8 as in Hint 3, there should be five valves left on either side of the fountain.

US Version

When A makes his next move, B should match it on the opposite side. Give it a try!

WHen A makes his next move, B should match it on the other side. Give it a try!

Solution

Correct

Fount-astic!

As A begins by opening two valves, there are 11 left at the start of B's first turn.

In order to ensure a win, B must use this turn to open just one valve so that the remaining valves are divided into two groups of five.
