UK Version

If all else fails, the trick is to start at any button and follow the sequence until you find the right one.

The sequence moves downward, so the first number dialed must be near the top.

That should point you in the right direction.

UK Version

The sequence moves downwards, so the first button pressed can't be near the bottom.

That should point you in the right direction.

The horizontal movements at the start of the sequence are right, then left, then left again.

This means that the first button pressed must be somewhere in the middle column.

US Version

The sequence involves moving down three times without ever moving up. This means that the first button pressed is in the top row.

It should now be clear which button was pressed first.

UK Version
