Robot Factory is a puzzle in Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. The puzzle must be solved in order to progress the story.

Puzzle

This robot comes in four parts: head, body, arms and legs. To put the parts together, all you have to do is put each part into one of the four yellow boxes, then flip the switch. The only problem is you're not sure what order they'll be assembled in or which way up they'll be!

Can you put the robot back together correctly? You can rotate the parts as well as move them. When all parts are in place, touch Submit to start the assembly machinery.

You don't have to think too hard here. You can just work by trial and error.

To start with, put each part in any box and start the machinery. Then watch them fall one at a time and try to work out how the boxes' contents are handled during the assembly process. In what order are they put together, and how are they rotated?

If you followed Hint 1, you've probably worked out the order in which the boxes' contents are put together.

Now place the parts in the boxes so that the robot is built from its legs first, then body, then arms, then head. You can think about the rotation later.

Here's part of the solution: place the body in the rightmost box and rotate it so it's upside down.

Put the parts in the boxes in the following order, from left to right: arms, legs, head, body.

There's no need to rotate the legs - they can go in the right way up. Now just work out how the arms and head need to be rotated and the robot is complete!
